Schools
Rivers Regional Council works closely with the Department and Environment and Conservation's 'Waste Wise School's Program' and Cleanaway's 'Recover Recycle Reuse' program to ensure all schools in the member councils integrate waste avoidance and resource recovery education into the overall curriculum by educating staff, students and parents how to live more sustainably implementing waste minimisation and recycling projects.
Cleanaway's 'Recover Recycle Reuse' school incursion
'Recover Recycle Reuse' is delivered by Cleanaway and is available free of charge to all schools in Rivers Regional Council member councils.
The program focuses on waste minimisation and recycling, and meets the requirements of the Outcomes and Standards Framework. The success of the program is largely due to the opportunities provided to all students to engage in hands-on activities.
The program is suitable for Years 1-7, and the duration of the session for each class is approximately 45-60 minutes. Please note that the program includes two sessions. The second session is conducted the week after the initial incursion, and is a follow-up session designed to consolidate learning.
The overall goal of the program is to provide students with a greater understanding of recycling and the importance of waste minimisation and its impact on our planet's future sustainability.
This program is exceptionally popular, so to avoid disappointment call now and organise the incursion for 2009-2010.
To book an incursion or find out more, please email nina.how@cleanaway.com.au or call 9449 3315 or 0438 951 392.
